We all know the expression, “You are what you eat” but what about the idea that “You are what you drink”?
If you’ve never put much thought into what you choose to consume at the bar or at home, then that likely indicates you’re an easy-going, laid back individual or you’re generally ambivalent towards drinking. Either way, what you choose to drink does speak volumes about who you are, especially if you drink beer.
Beer personality #1: The Domestic Guy
This guy drinks the mainstream brews on tap. We’re talking watered-down lagers that are advertised on television. He’s comfortable with brands that he’s familiar with, and once he’s found his brand he sticks to it. These guys are generally easy-to-please social drinkers, and they clearly have never worked in the restaurant industry before.
Beer Personality#2: The Dark Beer Guy
If he’s drinking Guinness, then he must be Irish or must be very fond of Ireland. Guys who enjoy a darker, bitterer brew generally have darker personalities – think rock stars or bad boys generally. Darker beer drinkers are sometimes smokers, and they enjoy strong robust flavors like espresso.
Beer Personality #3: The Connoisseur
Perhaps he’s a bartender, or maybe beer is special of his. Either way, he knows a hell of a lot. He can pinpoint the difference an ale and a stout, a dubbel vs. trippel, an IPA vs. a pilsner. This guy loves to taste new beers, and his adventurous palate is exemplary of his interesting personality. These types of guys usually frequent bars with a beer menu that might as well be a book. They’re great conversers, and probably have a strong taste for the finer things in life.
